The Future of Aging and Longevity - Flipbook - Page 9

The current systems and structures, built for shorter,
more linear lives, must now accommodate longer, more
complex ones. They must work for everyone, not just
those already posi琀椀oned to bene昀椀t.
The next decade calls for accelera琀椀ng this transforma琀椀on
by redesigning the policies, systems, and infrastructure and
care models that directly shape how people age. This means
engineering health-promo琀椀ng environments through inten琀椀onal
policy and design, centering older adults in public health
emergency planning and preparedness, inves琀椀ng in caregiving
supports a琀琀uned to cultural di昀昀erences and the increasing number
of young caregivers, and building the public-private partnerships
needed to deliver whole-person, integrated aging care across the
lifespan. We must move from siloed e昀昀orts to coordinated systems
aligned around a shared agenda for longer lives.
